ɫɫӰԺ’s engineering program consistently ranks among the top programs in the country in the U.S. News and World Report rankings. Kettering was also designated a ‘Best in the Midwest’ university by the Princeton Review in its and the Washington Monthly in its ‘Best Bang for the Buck’ college rankings.

ɫɫӰԺ also appeared in Forbes "America's Top Colleges" rankings for the first time in 2017. Kettering was ranked 320th nationally (out of 650 universities Forbes evaluated), 219th nationally among private universities, 69th overall in the Midwest and .
