The Michigan Small Business Development Center (SBDC) I-69 Trade Corridor Region and the ɫɫӰԺ School of Management have teamed up to donate materials to the Berston Fieldhouse library.
The SBDC, which is housed on ɫɫӰԺ’s campus, donated its business resource center, which includes videos and educational resources to help individuals start businesses, to Berston. Dr. Beverly Jones, donated textbooks on management and other business topics. Amanda Rodden from the School of Management helped coordinate the donations and Kettering also donated bookshelves, with volunteers from the facilities staff and students from Delta Tau Delta helping move the materials into Berston. 
“Berston is a place that helps transform lives and create new opportunities, so this is the perfect place to house these materials,” said Janis Mueller, Regional Director of the SBDC I-69 Trade Corridor Region.
“I grew up in Flint, so I am very excited we could provide these materials to the community,” Jones said.
The donations help support Berston’s ongoing community initiatives to provide resources to residents in North Flint. Berston is a central, accessible location for many residents who have an interest in starting their own small businesses.
“This is a game-changer for us,” said Bryant Nolden, Executive Director of the Friends of Berston. “We are excited about these partnerships with Kettering and the SBDC. This space is used constantly, and these materials will add to what we can offer here.”
